Danny Thomas, born in South Gate, California, was the middle child of seven. He excelled in sports at Mater Dei High School, lettering in football, soccer, and swimming, which earned him a scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and started as a defensive end for three years.

Danny’s passion for finance led him to intern at Kidder, Peabody and PaineWebber. After graduating, he became a Sales Manager and Financial Advisor at PaineWebber in Long Beach. Following a merger with UBS and Rick Meyer’s retirement, he joined Crowell, Weedon and Company as a Partner. In August 2013, Crowell Weedon partnered with DA Davidson, sharing values of client focus, employee ownership, and community service.

Danny is active in mentoring and supporting charities, including past roles with Noble Viking Charities and Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He has also provided internships and tuition assistance for Mater Dei High School athletes.

Family is central to Danny’s life. He is devoted to Stephanie, the love of his life, and their four children: Jake, a professional at Pimco; Sophia, a financial analyst at Merrill; Laney, a junior at TCU; and Hadley, a student at Corona Del Mar. Together, they enjoy skiing, golf, travel, and philanthropy.

Courtney Johnson is a Senior Registered Associate with D.A. Davidson. She has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Courtney is committed to give our clients the best experience by listening and assisting with their individual needs. She is bright, compassionate and plays a critical role in the success of our team.

Outside of the office, Courtney stays active with her young son, watching his football games, visiting the beach and spending time with friends.

Brennen Ramos joined our team in 2024 as a Registered Client Associate. Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, he built a strong foundation in the insurance and mortgage industries through his work with World Financial Group and Groves Capital.

During the pandemic, Brennen earned his first financial license while simultaneously managing remote client work and online college coursework from home. After graduating, he continued to  deepen his knowledge of personal finance to provide further value to the First Port Financial Management team and to help clients build stronger financial futures.

A proud Southern California native, Brennen attended Chapman University in Orange County, where he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He currently resides in Lake Forest, staying close to family and friends.

Outside of work, Brennen enjoys baseball, college football, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and snowboarding trips to Big Bear Mountain.

Danielle helps to create comprehensive, tailored wealth planning solutions. She works with clients to understand their options and make decisions designed to constructively advance them toward achieving their goals. Danielle is Series 7 licensed and is a registered investment advisor representative. She also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® and Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional^® certifications. Before joining D.A. Davidson in 2014, Danielle worked in the mortgage industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics/economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

James and his research team provide equity research and updates, portfolio analysis tools and model portfolios of recommended equities to financial advisors and their clients, including individual investors and their families, businesses and nonprofits. His focus is on developing multiple channels for distribution of research to D.A. Davidson’s roughly 350 financial advisors and their clients so that each client can make informed financial decisions that match their objectives and situations. James has spent over 20 years in the financial services industry, and is co-manager of the D.A. Davidson Focus List model portfolio. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with an MBA in finance, a bachelor’s degree in economics/management and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation.

Steve oversees D.A. Davidson Trust Company, where he has broad oversight responsibility for ensuring the trust company provides comprehensive planning for its clients and also for management of the firm’s team of professionals. Steve joined the firm in April 2015 after previously serving as President of The Corundum Group in Colorado Springs. Additionally, he was a founder and board member of Central Bancorp, Inc., a diversified holding company operating not only Corundum but also a commercial bank, mortgage company and an affiliated insurance company. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
